MARIMBEA / WORKSHOP – CONCERT + JAM
Leading the musical direction is Adrián Sabogal, founder of Marimbea, and a musician-researcher who has spent over 14 years exploring Pacific traditions and their fusion with jazz. He also founded Redil Cuarteto and Pambil, projects known for their experimental depth.
From Guapi, Jessianber (Jessica Anchico) brings her legacy as a marimbera, singer, and percussionist, passed down from her grandmother, María Caicedo Aragón—a pillar of Pacific music. She currently performs with Reincarnation of the Pacific.
Cristian Mina, grandson of marimba icon Silvino Mina, represents a powerful new voice in the tradition. He’s part of Semblanzas del Río Guapi and teaches local youth through its foundation.
Jaritza Narváez, a rising percussionist, challenges gender norms in Pacific music. As a member of Renacer del Pacífico, she helped win the Petronio Álvarez Festival, the most important Afro-Latin music event in the region.
