FRANÇOIS LEGRAIN & DANIEL SCHMITZ

This project was born from an instinctive collaboration between Daniel and another artist, at the crossroads of ambient, jazz and sound design. It unfolds as an immersive form of music, conceived as a space to inhabit rather than a narrative to follow. Two Idiots in a Shed explores escape through sonic texture: layers, silences, breaths and melodic fragments that slowly take shape, then dissolve. Beneath this sensitive exploration lies a more diffuse questioning: credibility, place, and the deeper reasons that lead them to be there in the first place. The album engages in a dialogue with those quiet inner voices that accompany the creative process. Moving between doubt and intuition, it seeks a point of balance where attentive listening, to oneself and to sound, opens a space of accuracy, presence and freedom. This project is part of the Echo Sessions and will take shape through a three-day residency at Sounds. A jam session will follow the concert.
