ECHO SESSION - CROSSWINDS

Echo Sessions is a cutting edge concert series blending Jazz, Contemporary Music and Collective Improvisation into resonant, spontaneous performances. To projects who play those concerts will be offered up to three days Residency at Sounds, right before playing preparing and researching for the performance. The idea is that during those three days of Residency, artists can prepare material for the performance, trying out things, pushing the boundaries considering that the audience of Echo Sessions are mostly interested in these kinds of music. After the concerts there will be a Jam Session. The project “Crosswinds” aims to shape a new artistic reality within the Brussels jazz scene. By bringing together a collective of young composers and musicians, we are creating a space where new music can emerge.
At its core, the project is a contemporary jazz chamber orchestra, blending the rich textures of strings and horns with a jazz rhythm section. This ensemble aims to give young composers the opportunity to experiment, explore new ideas, and make their voices heard.
